Toys for a 9 Year Old Boys Birthday

Let’s be honest here. How many of our kids NEED more toys ? We have toys all over our main floor, in an office and in the basement. Piles and piles of toys! We need no more!

But, my son’s birthday is coming up and we have to give him something! After talking with him about what he wanted for his big day, this is what he came up with (and he’s NOT getting all this!):

Hot Wheels Action Track Set Split Ninja Chop $15.00

This is a super cool new Hot Wheels toy where the car can actually split in half down the middle. So you can actually attach two different cars together using the magnet. 9 year old boys think this is pretty cool! Not to mention the price tag is less than $20!

Nintendo Switch  $400

The Nintendo Switch can be used single and multiplayer mode. Kids can take it on the road and enjoy a fun experience anytime, anywhere. The detachable Joy-Con can be used in many ways including:

        • One player can use a Joy-Con in each hand
        • Two players can each take one
        • Multiple Joy-Con can be used by numerous people for a variety of game play options
        • The mobility of a handheld is now added to the power of a home gaming system to enable an all new type of video game experience.

      Lego Worlds– $28.00

My son is super excited about this!

      • Experience a galaxy of Worlds made entirely from LEGO bricks.
      • Create anything you can imagine one brick at a time, or use landscaping tools to create huge mountain ranges and dot your world with tropical islands.
      • Explore using helicopters, dragons, motorbikes or even gorillas and unlock treasures that enhance the game.
      • Watch your creations come to life through characters and creatures that interact with you and each other in different ways.

      Amazon Echo– $180.00

      • Alexa will play all your music from Amazon Music, Spotify, Pandora, iHeartRadio, TuneIn, and more using just your voice. Just ask Alexa to call or message anyone with an Echo, Echo Dot, or the Alexa App. She will answer questions, reads the news, report traffic and weather, and read audio books from Audible. She also gives information on local businesses, provides sports scores and schedules, and more.
      • Alexa can also control lights, fans, switches, thermostats, garage doors, sprinklers, locks, and more with compatible connected devices.

      Fidget Spinner– Less than $10

I do not know why or how these fidget spinners became SO popular, but all I can say is I wish I had invented them! Those people are BILLIONAIRE’S I am sure! AJ loves to spin them all over the house and tries to pass them to people while they are spinning. They don’t do anything except spin- but kids love them!

    • Super Soaker – $26.00

This soaker is the bomb! It has 3 modes- it can scatter, floor or can shoot far distances. It holds up to 84 ounces and can soak up to 38 feet away! Every boy needs a few water guns!

Presently I Am…

· VERY excited about the upcoming 3 day weekend. Sometimes I think that life is just way too busy and I need a break! Then, I remind myself that my life is super busy with mostly fun things, so I’m not complaining. But I will say, it’s very nice to have a weekend with NO PLANS! Don’t get me wrong, I’ve got a list of things I want to get done, but its house stuff that’s been put off. I’m super excited. I see yard work and BBQ’s in my near future!

· Trying to figure out how my son got so old! He’s almost 9 and today is his last day of 3rd grade! How did this happen? I remember being pregnant and giving birth and watching him learn to roll over, crawl, walk, etc.. And now he’s going to be a 4th grader in a few months! ARGH!

My little baby!

· Ready for the pool to open! The weather in this state is so crazy. We had snow last weekend and now it’s in the 80’s. We’ve got the windows open, the whole house fan on and I’m complaining that it’s hot! I’m not bathing suit ready- that’s for sure. But I’m ready for some pool time!
· Absolutely in LOVE with these shoes. I mean SERIOUSLY IN LOVE. I saw them on some Facebook ad and knew I had to have them. My mom got them for me for my birthday and I just stare at them! I haven’t worn them yet, as I’m not 100% they will be comfortable for an all-day wear yet, so I’m waiting for the right time to bust them out. Hoping that will be soon!
· Thinking about the blog post I made about doing good deeds and realizing I SUCK! I haven’t done any really good deeds since I posted that. What is wrong with me? I know I’m a good person- but I really want to start going out of my way to be better. Time to get on that!
· Second guessing this blog thing. I was so confident and sure when I started, but now I’m 30 days in and feeling overwhelmed. I realize this is all new and I’m still learning, but as I’ve mentioned, I’m not a patient person. I want this to happen NOW! I’d love to hear some suggestions on how to get some more people to subscribe!

Moving forward…

Spoiled Girl..

It’s been a crazy fun weekend of being spoiled! Sunday was Mothers Day and Monday was my 41st birthday. To start, Jason planned a weekend away to Breckenridge, CO about 2 hours away. He planned it with some of our best friends, Joy and Kris. We’ve traveled with them a ton of times and it’s always a fantastic time. It’s so fun to travel with people who are just easy going!

We arrived on Friday early evening and checked into our Airbnb. It was the perfect house for all of us! 3 great size bedroom, 3 bathrooms and plenty of living space. The best part is that it was walking distance from downtown so we never had to drive anywhere! After we unloaded our things, we went to our favorite place, Downstairs At Erics. We have to go there every time we’re in Breck because it’s so fun! The kids can play in the arcade and we can hang out and have pizza and fantastic nachos (and maybe wine) YUM!

The next day we took our time getting ready and headed to the crepe stand on Main Street. The line is ALWAYS LONG- like at least an hour- but it’s TOTALLY WORTH IT! I got the eggs Benedict with brie crepe. It doesn’t get much better than that!

Then we made our way down the street for some shopping. Breck is SO beautiful and while there is a lot to do, it also is such a calm town. You can plan a busy schedule, or you can totally relax. Somehow we were able to do a lot of fun things, but it also felt like Saturday was a long day! (A good thing!) After shopping we went to CB Potts (it sounds like all we did was eat, huh?) for a few drinks and more nachos (???). Then, back to the house to play some games and relax and then back out for dinner. I can’t even believe I’m telling that we ATE.MORE.FOOD. But, yep, that’s what we did.

My Best Bud!

AJ playing at the park in Breckenridge- such a beautiful background!

The background tho… GORGEOUS

I thought this was a good idea.. WRONG

On Sunday, Jason and Kris got up early and made us a wonderful breakfast- eggs, sausage, hash browns and mimosa’s of course! Then we loaded up and had to get home. It was SUCH a fun little trip, but too short for sure. One more day would have been great.

One of my besties- Joy. We had the best time together!

When we got home, all I wanted to do was to plant flowers in my yard. Living in Colorado, it’s inevitable that we all plant flowers too early in the season- before the last snow- but no one can help it! (It will likely snow this weekend) But it is so brown in the early Spring and we need COLOR! So, Jason bought me a bunch of flowers and I took some time to get a sunburn and plant them. Pure Happiness! I got in a great workout at Orange Theory and by the end of that, I was done! Just exhausted but because we did so much and had such a fun time.

I’m so thankful to Jason for planning all of this; for getting me a wine cooler for our house, and all the other fun things. Whoever thought turning 41 would be so fun!

Now, I’m going to go on a diet for the rest of my life.

More Fun Surprises!

I’m on this kick now of signing up for these fun boxes of goodies that show up in the mail! In my last post, I told you about how much I am loving Stitch Fix. I love getting clothes in the mail and trying to make them work with things I already own.

But I also just discovered Fab Fit Fun which is also AWESOME! My girlfriend just told me about it and the things you get are incredible! So, it’s a quarterly shipment you get and it’s $49. They do seasonal boxes and I just received their Spring box (not that it feels like Spring since there are many inches of snow in my yard right now). Here’s a few pictures of what I got in this box.

Do you see HOW MANY THINGS come in one box? Lipstick, an oval blanket (great for summer concerts at the park), cute earrings, a FULL SIZE bottle of leave in conditioner, nail polish, face mask, cute little wet bag (Resting Beach Face!), and age defying exfoliator. You guys- I got all of this for $49 bucks! Use this link if you want to try it. I HIGHLY recommend it. I can’t wait until the Summer box!

If You Like Receiving Surprises in the Mail

If you’re anything like me, you like getting things in the mail. No, not bills or junk, but fun surprises like clothes and other goodies! I’m sure most of you are aware of StitchFix. In case you’re not, it’s an online personal shopper. Whether or not you like to shop (and I DO), it’s still really fun. What I love about it, is that you will rarely see anyone wearing the same thing. The way it works is you go on to their site- use my referral link to try it out- and fill out all kinds of info about you. Your sizes, what types of things you like, etc… Then, for a $20 styling fee they send you 5 different things. It could be tops, sweaters, pants, shoes, jewelry, or dresses. You get to keep them for 3 days and make sure they fit and you like them. Then you can keep what you want and send back what you don’t- free shipping! And to make things even better, the $20 styling fee goes toward what you keep. If you keep all 5 items- which i’ve done a few times- you get 25% off the entire thing! You really should try it- it’s so fun when my Stitch Fix box shows up!
